Employed as Category Manager in DS Smith Ltd, multinational company leader in the wholesaler distribution of office supplies, since the start-up and I could experience all the difficulties of this project. I've managed the definition process of product catalogue and I’ve been responsible of a few categories (furniture, facilities management, writing instruments and accessories for a total of around 4000 sku’s and 80 vendors) and my main tasks were:
- select suppliers, negotiate price lists, contracts, agree the marketing contributions and arrange promotions
- choose and modify the products assortment and the definition of the price list for the retail together with the margins;
- management of the forecast;
- monitoring sales results and proposing corrective actions;
- creation of the end users’ promotional activities and of the marketing tools for the retail;
- realization of annual products catalogue and promotional brochures;
- Marketing Plan;
- management of buying terms and conditions based on Headquarter guidelines;
- competitors analysis.
