Michele Giannino

I am an Italian qualified lawyer with an LL.M. in European and International Trade Law with distinction from the University of Leicester. I also obtained a Ph.D. in Competition Law from Queen Mary of University of London. My research is about the regulation of international mergers. In this regard, I explored the possible strategies for the regulation of international merger operations with particular focus on the need for multilateral solutions in order to deal with the issues and questions raised by such operations.
During my education and professional experience I have gained an comprehensive knowledge and a understanding of competition law, EC law and business law. I also a regular contributor to Italian and international legal websites.
Currently, I am working for a legal firms, which mainly provides legal assistance in the fields of debt recovery, insolvency and banking law.
In the same time I am also contributing to a number of international legal databases by providing case notes on Italian competition and public procurement cases. Further, I am an active researcher in the field of EU law, particularly on competition, state aid and internal market law and in such capacity I have written many articles on such issues that were published in interantional and/or Italian legal websites and journals. Finally, I recently started reading for the STEP's Diploma in International Trust Management, for which I sat for the module Law and Creation of Trusts.
