Norma Beatriz Santillo

Norma Beatriz Santillo was born in Buenos Aires on 24th January, 1961. Niece of art to her uncle who was first violin in the Maestro De Angelis Orchestra for 30 years and currently in the Ernesto Franco Orchestra, she has listened to and sung the tango since she was a child. She starts her musical journey in the stable group of tango and folklorical Argentinian music in the “Eduardo L. Holmberg” Elementary School as a singer and musician (guitar and bombo). She studies piano and solfeggio in the “Fracassi National Conservatorium of Music”. She continues to sing and to perform in Buenos Aires. She obtains her Degree in Economics and a work opportunity induces her to emigrate to Italy where she lives in Milan for three years. She then moves to London where she lives for six years. After which she is promoted to a position in Italy, in Rome where she has since settled. But her latent passion for singing and the theatre leads her to start singing lessons again. This time with Antonella Neri, Susan Long and Delia Surrat. She also has drama lessons with Alessia Oteri and so her artistic career begins. She goes back to Buenos Aires for one year, where she continues her training as a singer and actress. She studies vocal technique in the “Instituto de la voz “, singing lessons with Marcela Santanocito and theatre in the Andamio 90 Drama School with Alessandro Samec, who is Alejandra Boero’s son. In Buenos Aires she records her cd “Algo Diferente” with arrangements by Pablo Mainetti and presents it with a concert during the Villa Celimontana Jazz Festival on 13th August, 2009. On her return to Rome she continues her professional career. She studies singing with Rosa Rodriguez, Emira Dervinyte, Susan Long and theatre with Alessia Oteri. Among other successful concerts it is important to mention the one in December 2008 with Natalio Luis Mangalavite at the piano where the tango dancer Osvaldo Zotto dances accompanied by her voice.
