Nicola Francesco Dotti
PhD student, Politecnico di Milano
I graduated in Urban Planning and Territorial Policy Design at Politecnico di Milano and I developed my interdisciplinarity knowledge at Alta Scuola Politecnica.
I am interested in territorial development issues. I decided to orient my education to economical and regional sciences approaches. I did my thesis with prof. Roberto Camagni, who is responsable of the regional and urban economics research area at Politecnico di Milano. My studies in Planning were oriented to urban dynamics and political issues about decision making processes. The design and management of plans was the main topics of my courses.
I decided to integrate my education orienting to economics issues, particularly about regional development.
For my job, I would like become a researcher in Urban and Territorial Development and my Planning formation need to be integrated by Economics studies.
With my thesis and my current job (assistant researcher at Politecnico di Milano), I am particularly oriented about knowledge economy (R&D, technology transfert, high education, innovation processes) and its territorial effects because I think that it is (and it will be further) the main challenge in territorial development.
