2 contactsUNIHEAT results from a collaboration between the TFHT (thermofluid-mechanic and heat transfer group of Bergamo University) and NANTO, a society working on technological transfer to industry and nanotechnology. Uniheat is specialised in supporting its client with tailored solutions regarding heat transfer problematics, both in the domain of the design and the one of the manufacturing.
- Management of a project in the sector of electronics
- Material optimisation
- Business development in the biomedical sector
- Contribution to company IP strategies and patent writing
2007 - 2009Collaboration with Imperial College to design and produce a high throughput screening assays for the pharmaceutical industry.
Two main objectives : a) manufacturing of a biosensor to measure the enzymatic activity of cytochrome P450 when exposed to a drug ; b) integration of this biosensor in a micro-fluidic platform to deliver to a pharmaceutical company
Main tasks:
- Investigation of the materials constituting the biosensor, management of the relationship with the materials supplier in the US (CTI, York, PA), and training of a team of technicians
- Immobilisation of proteins on electrodes and characterisation of the protein film
- Electrochemical characterisation of different types of enzymes P450
- Conception and assembly of the micro-fluidic platform and management of the relationship with the partners (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Didcot, UK)
Main achievements:
o Design and development of a biosensor ready for industrial exploitation
o Conception of a micro-fluidic platform and delivery of a prototype to a customer
o Filing of a patent
2006 - 2007Nanto Srl is an Italian society operating in the business of the technology transfer and scouting in the domain of nanotechnology. My mission in Nanto is to manage different research projects with both industrials and academic partners.
2006 - 2007Micro-assembly of a piezoelectric fibres array via electrostatic manipulation; the final aim was manufacturing a polymer matrix piezoelectric composite to employ in acoustic imagery.
2002 - 2002Formulation and realisation of ceramic matrix nano-composites with carbon nanotubes (CNT).
2002 - 2002Dispersion of carbon nanotubes in organic media for incorporation into polymer matrix composites
